Itinerary description
Beautiful route to go all the way to the top of Mt. Lovcen and back. There is a free parking to leave the car at Njegusi.
The views from the top and from some of the spots on the way are astonishing.
I strongly recommend to carry some good Njegusi ham for a sandwich and enjoy it from the panoramic views of the top.
The only bad part is that the mausoleum at the top charges 5 € even if you come walking!
Most of the way is through the forest, so the sun is not that much of a problem. We had a little rain but it was never an issue. The track is more or less well signalized but you might find yourself a bit lost on the way back, past the dry lake. Anyway, just keep going down the mountain and eventually you should find the way.
You can always come down the same way up, but you'll miss the dry lake, which has some interesting views of the nearby peaks.

Good trail! It goes through the forest most of the time. The way up is easy to follow and very pleasent. However, the way down after the dry lake is very unpleasent. It is poorly signalised and you might get lost several times, trying to walk through high vegetation. I recommend following the same trail to go up and down. If you want to see the dry lake, just go down and then up again to follow the good trail again.
