Itinerary description

This steep trail plummets down into the Rubicon Canyon and can leave you huffing and puffing on the way back out. The trail is open most of the year and only hikers, horses, and mountain bicycles are allowed on it. NO MOTORIZED VEHICLES. The trail has one existing footbridge that crosses Pilot Creek. The other bridge has washed away with the Rubicon River. The trail continues across the Rubicon up to Nevada Point and down the other side, then up to Ralston Ridge for the intrepid hiker. Trail work is needed on sections north of the Rubicon.
