Itinerary description
(N.B. WIKILOC ERROR: ELEVATION GAIN IS +730m)
Lovely hike, wintery conditions in mid-May (2C, NW 7m/s). First 4k easy up West ridge of Hengill then a turn Eastwards and climb onto balcony. The descent from there was covered in snow still. Initially started South along the Eastern ridge above the power station and rift valley but dropped below dud to the headwind. Nice final climb up with great views. Lovely hike but beware it is the North face of Hengill :)
