The Mardi Himal Trek, is a route in the northern area of Pokar, a hidden jewel very close to the Annapurnas massif.
Trekking done in 7 stages (although it can easily be done in less days investing less days in the ascent).
It is a trek without great technical difficulty, suitable for anyone accustomed to move around the mountain. but you walk in height so you get tired.

An ideal trek, as there are hardly people and you avoid the most crowded routes. The Mardi Himal, runs through an elevated hill with spectacular views over the Annapurnas circus.
The route that is perfectly marked shares at the beginning itineraries of other treks such as the one of the anapurna sanctuary. It rises among beautiful forests to travel later by the edge of the valley of Modo Khola, allowing you to enjoy spectacular views at the foot of the Mardi Himal, from whom it takes its name, and the beautiful Machhapuchhre (sacred mountain).
During the crossing we will cross the immense valleys of the Himalayas, forests of rhododendrons and lichens, streams and waterfalls, terraces of rice and villages of different ethnic groups where we can live with their culture and traditions.
You can enjoy panoramas of great mountain mountains such as the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Hiunchuli and the Machhapuchhare, known as "fish tail".
The accommodations are basic but quite adapted.
The highest altitude at which you spend the night is 3,500 m, but you climb up to the highest viewpoint of the imposing Mardi Himal.
At the time of following the path there is no problem because it is marked on trees with white and blue markings. The greatest difficulty can be given from the High Camp to the top as the slender track runs along the ridge of the mountain and you have to be careful especially in case of rain.
It is a humid area so it is common that with rain appear leeches that get hooked on all parts of the body. The leeches do not cause any disease but they are quite disgusting. A very useful local remedy to convat is to hand a small sack of cotton cloth full of salt (you wet it in water, and it's best to get the leech out of your skin without leaving a mark or blood).
It is a beautiful trekking, you go through many types of landscapes, you see life and the views of the mountains are very spectacular.

The lodges or simply hostels are the typical lodgings in the mountain areas. They usually consist of a dining room with stove and dormitories. The shower or toilet is very basic.

Lumre, the first village with access for vehicles, where they pick us up to take us to Pokhara where we will enjoy a good shower of hot water and a well-deserved rest.

Espectacular ruta por cordal.
Alojamientos basics, en algunos casos sin ducha o agua caliente. Comida no muy variada pero correcta. Agua en todos los lodges del camino.
La dificultad técnica es moderada si haces ya montaña de manera continua, si no es así es difícil e implicará tener q ir despacio.
Todo un placer el haber compartido la aventura y descubrir ese magnifico país. . Nos vemos en la próxima.
