I am an American and went on my first trek in Nepal last year in September. It was a great experience overall. We did a 14 day or so hike to ABC( Annapurna Base Camp) in the Himalaya's. It was a bit rainy this time of the year but it was lovely up there in the mountains with lots of waterfalls and bubbling brooks..... I enjoyed staying in the tea houses too and meeting the locals. It is important to have an knowledgeable guide when there. If you are looking for an excellent guide, I highly recommend my Nepali guide Sanjib...He navigated us around the trails and gave us tons of good back ground info. Having a local guide can get you better deals with the locals too.. The Nepali love to negotiate prices on pretty much everything... If you are considering trekking in Nepal, I would email Sanjib at sanjib-adhikari@hotmail.com and ask him any questions..He can help you rent gear if need be. We rents subzero sleeping bags on the cheap in Kathmandu. It was my first trek, but I would love to do it again. Kelly Lynn Egan PO Box 36995 Al Ain, UAE
