Itinerary description

Start at the seaside town of Neos Marmaras, hike the steep slopes and dry river beds up to the old 10th century BC villay of Parthenonas then traverse upwards to the peak of Mt Itamos 811 metres above sea level. Climb the fireman's watchtower at the rocky and treefallen peak overlooking Mt. Athos on one side and the narrowest point of the Sinthonia Peninsula...then get offered a watermelon by the friendly fireman manning the watchtower (if you're lucky)!
