Itinerary description
Soo disappointed :-(
We had heard about the Nelson Lake forest fire before we went on holiday, so wanted to see what damage had been done. We also wanted to see the lake as we had read it was worth the effort to get to it.
Unfortunately the weather was against us. It had snowed quite heavily a couple of days beforehand and the lake was on the shadow side of the mountain, so the path became too treacherous for us to hike.
We turned back after we lost track of the trail in the snow and decided it wasn't worth the risk.
