Itinerary description
Start point: Negbina, Djen borje (past the school and the church in the centre, there's this new information board at the very start of the trail)
It's a rather easy hike, gradually ascending, well marked..
There's only about 100-200m of paved road to walk on which is grand, the majority of the trail is gravel roads, a few shortcuts..
There's a wide creek somewhere at the beginning that needs jumping over.
We did the hike in winter so there was snow and plenty of animal footprints once in Murtenica (bear, wolf, dear etc). That part is mostly through the forest. The Karaula peak is nothing spectacular as it's covered with pine trees, but before turning left to the big cross and the peak itself, there are wonderful views from the plateau (Montenegrin mountains on the horizon). As it was getting dark on the way back we missed the shortcut to Kovac vrelo but got there continuing on the gravel road and turning right.
There are at least 3 water springs on the trail👌
It's a circular hike so can be done both ways, we did it counterclockwise, worth it as the views were the best on the way back, especially at sunset 🤩
