Itinerary description
This walk started from the car park on Stryd Y Plas in Nefyn (N 52.9343 : W 4.5181). We walked on a path up the fields into the forest where we reached a forest access road. This was a bit of a scramble as the area had been felled and the path had been somewhat damaged by the machinery used.
The walk then turned sharp right off the road and up a narrow path onto the top of Garn Boduan and involved a bit of a scramble across a scree.
Once clear of the trees the views were sensational, and the iron age settlement on the top were a real surprise because it is so easy to make out the stone circles of the round houses and ramparts.
From the top we followed a much better path down an access road on the south side of the hill. Eventually we came to a marker with a description of the history of the settlement, where we turned left and followed an access road around the hill until we reached the path we had used from the village, and retraced our steps to the car park.
Well worth the climb for the views and history.
