Itinerary description
This trail is part of the vast Nathan Hale State Forest in Coventry, CT. You will enter this section of the state forest from a parking area in front of the Nathan Hale Homestead. If you are lucky it will be open for you to visit. There is a picnic table nearby if you wish to have lunch. This hike will take you out across the field into the forest. I hiked around just one section of this beautiful area. Be forwarded, as of 2014 trail bikers used the trails; so be on the watch for them. Also you will find hunters in the woods during hunting season, so either stay out of the woods during that time or wear very bright clothes! There is a great series of GEOCaches throughout the forest, so if you into that, have fun. I certainly enjoyed my visit, I hope you also do. I have a website with some general information about hiking etc. The trails are mainly about Florida, so you may not be interested in that part of the website – www.tomchoma.com Happy trails to all!
