To reach Fairy Meadows from Jal, we travel a long stretch in jeep (Nanga Parbat trekking jeep).
From the restaurant (arrival of the jeeps) we climb together with hundreds of Pakistani tourists in a couple of hours to the beautiful Fairy Meadows Cottage. The Rajikot Wall is visible at the bottom of the valley.
From the cottage in another 2 hours, always going up the valley to the side of the glacier Left Moraine, we arrive at the Spartan hotel of Bèal in a basin of pastures and woodsmen. Here in NP it is impressive
Excursion following the edge of the glacier (4 hours round trip) to the Base Camp (here there are various gravestones, including the one in memory of Karl Unterkircher). The vision of the Rajikot with its glaciers is impressive.
We will then return to the restaurant for the descent by jeep (which we will do in an adventurous way because the storm of the previous night has destroyed the road at various points.
Note: this part of the trek can also be done without a guide as there are numerous points of tourist support. It is in fact the only tourist route of the Nanga Parbat very frequented by the Pakistanis. The police permit is indispensable. We have used the NangaParbatAdventure.com agency with great satisfaction. The loaded tracking can not be used as a route for inaccuracy due to GPS reception difficulties in narrow valleys and canyon effect.
