We go up the Diamir valley (left side), passing through Nagatonl, the village that in 1970 welcomed Messner descended from the Diamir side after the death of his brother Gunther. We cross the glacier to reach the village of Kuthgali, in a wide pasture (5 hours, 3844 meters).
Excursion to the Nanga Parbat Base Camp Diamir at 4230 mt (5 hours AR). Follow the valley floor to the base of the glaciers. Our guide, Abdul Mateen is the one who in 2005 found at the base of the glacier the Gunther boot. Brighten up in the morning, rain in the afternoon.
We return to Ser (3.5 hours) going down the right side of the Diamir valley. Corrugated path largely in the woods.
It continues to go down for 4 hours on a long path on the left side of the depth of the Diamir Valley. The path is very high, carved into the rock that descends vertically up to the river. Very beautiful. At the bottom of the valley at the village of Diamroi, cross the river on a basket hanging from a pulley moved by hand, on the rope, by the bearers.
Note: trekking can only be done with guide and bearers in tow. There are no tourist support points. Required police permit. We have used the NangaParbatAdventure.com agency with great satisfaction. The loaded tracking can not be used as a route for inaccuracy due to GPS reception difficulties in narrow valleys and canyon effect.
