Trekking departing from the village of Tarishing (2917 mt), reachable by jeep or minibus with a dirt road from Astore.
Go up the Rupal valley (they will offer us tea in a Rupal village house). Very nice view of the Rupal wall of Nanga Parbat. Second part of the steep climb up to Herligkofler BC (4 hours, 3550 meters).
From the BC we go up the valley, following the lateral moraine, up to the glacier at the base of the Rupal wall, among marmot fields (3 hours AR). Night with the noise of the avalanches that descend adlla Rupal.
We go up the side moraine and cross the glacier, always with the Rupal above us up to Latobo (3 hours). Trip to the glacial barrier pond. We visit the village.
From Latobo to Shaigiri (2 hours), along the bottom of the valley (a bit of rain). The bearers slaughter a sheep, paid for by us, and they celebrate.
Sahigiri-Mazeno pass BC (5 hours, 4268 meters). Half the route at the bottom of the valley, parallel to the lateral moraine of the main glacier, then steep climb into the side valley leading to Mazeno. On the right you see the Mazeno ridge, one of the streets at the top of the NP.

Note: trekking can only be done with guide and bearers in tow. There are no tourist support points. Required police permit. We have used the NangaParbatAdventure.com agency with great satisfaction. The loaded tracking can not be used as a route for inaccuracy due to GPS reception difficulties in narrow valleys and canyon effect.

Thanks for sharing! Are there any water streams for drinking purposes? ???

Yes there are, but sanitization tablets are required. Local guides boil water, but the boiling temperature at 5000 meters is low.
