Itinerary description
Sannine again and again! I love this mountain in all seasons, and i already posted a similar one before, but it's always good to repost trails as an update, especially at different seasons. In my opinion, the suggested route is the shortest safest route to reach Sannine Cross, starting from Nabe3 Sannine. I consider this hike a difficult one. There is no trail all the way to the Cross (exciting for some hikers, uncomfortable for others). Do it only if you are a tough hiker. The ascent is long and continuous, steep at many parts. There is no "right" path to follow. Find the path that suits your technique of climbing, and it's normal to choose slightly different routes for ascent and descent. Amazing sceneries are your reward since the beginning of your climb all the way to the top. Patches of snow at this time of the season will add much beauty to your eyes and photos. On this clear day, i had the best views of surrounding mountains all around (Zaarour, Kneisseh, Barouk, Hermon and the Anti-Lebanon mountain range). You can see the Bekaa valley, Beirut and the Mediterranean sea as well. It is always cold and windy at the top, even on sunny winter days, so make sure to have your fleece/down jacket and a reliable windstopper jacket. I had to cross some snow patches, but there was no need for snowshoes (these were the best parts for my labrador Twix who found his preferred element!). Hiking poles and good hiking shoes are a must. Do this amazing hike in small steps carefully chosen, stay safe and keep it clean always. Enjoy Lebanon’s majestic mountains!
