Itinerary description
Mynydd Bedwellte
A nice, rare sunny day out hiking two 100-metre prominent peaks in and around the Rhymney Valley, namely Y Domen Fawr (504m) and Mynydd Bedwellte (486m). Two very pleasant undulating walks looking at a variety of things, including some cute Longhorn cows and fair play, there were some nice views to be had there today. Alas, it was spoiled by the amount of fly tipping in both areas; in fact, it was sad to see such large-scale, fragrant environmental abuse, such a shame.
Parking: Large gravel car park at start point by a pond.
Route: Nice uphill on path to trig pointed summit. Go over easy ground down to the road for the walk back.
Statistics: 4.2km with 110m of ascent in 55 minutes.
