My Favourite Summertime Walk, Sierra de Mijas
This is my take on this hidden little gem, the Sendero del Conde, which is a great walk to do all year round, especially in the summer as there is plenty of shade.
This is also my favourite walk in the Sierra de Mijas, (in second place La Bola because of the views).
It’s a circular walk with a nice stop at the firebreak looking over the Guadalhorce valley and over half a dozen mountain ranges.
There are a couple of climbs and a stony descent, but nothing majorly hard. It’s lovely being immersed in the woods and just listening to nature.
There are some good places to eat after the walk:- La Ventilla, Venta Los Moreno, La Boma (south African), and the bar at Casa de las Flores Viveros, which is 2 minutes down the road.
This walk is suitable for dogs. I have never come across processionary caterpillars on this route.
All in all a really great walk. Five stars in my book.
