Itinerary description
This walk uses sections from the old Los Lobos, Tenerife and Villaricos Mines walks in a 15Km route. Over three and a half Km of this route travels along the spectacular upper ridge lines of 14 of the 300 metre peaks in the Sierra Almagrera Range.
Part way up you can either follow the normal track to the ridge or a scramble up past the ruins with the shoes. (I would recommend long trousers and to be prepared to do some gardening). (secateurs)
After the lunch stop, with the Tenerife part of our walk behind you, the descent begins using part of the Villaricos Mines route. The winding route takes you down towards the Lettuce fields
After our hill walking you are now on the gently shelving area which leads to the, almost, dry river bed of the Rambla Canalejas. Enter it opposite the campsite at Cotijo Vilar, and, after a short walk along the river bed, make your way up to the high ground of Los Lobos and our very welcome drinks at the local Bar.
