Itinerary description
Beautiful loop around Muttenz. Starting near the town center, climb the hill to Wartenberg ruins where you can have a nice 360-view from the top. From there, continue east and have a pleasant walk on a mix of dirt and gravel roads. Once you reach Pratteln suburbs, go inside the forest. Here starts the most beautiful part of the hike. Forest trails are amazing. You can just wander in any direction you want. We made a loop to reach Muttenz from the south. Pay attention because a large part of the forest trail is for mountain biking as well. Do not forget to visit the small lake which surface is totally covered with green algae making it look like a green lake.
