(Himàlaia) Route on 09/26/2017; stage of 28 km of which 10 have been in 4x4 and 18 on foot; +1100 -900; 5 hours walking from a total of 7. Excursion organized with the following itinerary: Jomsom, Kagbeni, Tangbe and Chusang. Participants: Remi, Buni, Yolanda, Vinyet, Jordi and Miquel. The local guide is in Chetan. Output type: linear crossing; Difficulty: easy but long.
This trip to Nepal will be the 5th time I come to take a trek to the Himalayas. Therefore the first stop, one day, is in Kathmandu. The streets of the city, as always, are full of people, bicycles, motorcycles and cars, with their characteristic polution.
We are going to visit Durbar Square and we can see that they are still working on the reconstruction of some of the temples that the earthquake of April 26, 2015. It should be remembered that the geology of the Himalayas is subject to the tensions of two tectonic plates : Eurasia and Indo-Australian. That earthquake had the epicenter at 81 kilometers from Kathmandu and that is why it caused many flaws.
Two days later we are at the airport to fly to Pokhara, to the northeast. We will do it with a plane with a cartoon name: Yeti Airlines. To Kathmandu ... ...
