Ascent to Peak MUSALA .Highest roof or altitude in Bulgaria
The 2925m Musala peak, in Bulgarian Mycana is located in the Rila National Park, which in turn is located in the southwest of Bulgaria. The great mountains of “Rila”, are probably the most famous in Bulgaria.
Partimos of Borovets, 1315m, which is a famous ski resort. We took the chairlift ”Yastrebetz Gondola” which drops us off at the top of the ski slopes, at the Yastrebets chalet at 2370m. From this point there are two the usual routes: one following the chord all the way up and another passing through the ”Everets Refuge (2725m)” , at the foot of the summit to make a zigzag and rise to the summit. We made these two paths forming a circular route.
From the chair lift, we follow the line of ski lifts coming out on the right at the top of the cordal. Finishing the track, we continue on road on rocky terrain which with very little difficulty puts us on top of Musala Peak.
For the descent, we turn slightly to emerge on the right along wide path which with broad zigzag descends us to the ski shelter and relax area. Several paths meet here and having the sight set on the ski lift, Yastrebets, we arrive at this spot to take the cabin and descend to Borovets.
