Central and main part of the Hadrian's Wall Trail, passing through some of its most famous and notable points: Sycamore Gap (where Kevin Costner's Robin Hood was filmed) or Fort Housesteads.
Always within the Northumberland National Park, the route is tortuous with steep, short but constant slopes, which add up to a total of 1700m of accumulated elevation gain, rarely exceeding 300m in altitude. The route can be perfectly divided into shorter routes.
