Itinerary description

We took this beautiful hike and due to rain, took an auto once we got to the main road. It’s probable to take some tea plantations on the end leg rather than the main road which is a little riskier and less scenic, but we saw a few walkers along the road. I'd ignore the trek time listed since obviously we went much faster thanks to the auto.

We started the hike at Blackberry Hills--they have well-marked signs for their Shola Hike, which consists of a quick, steep descent onto the tea plantation road. Once through the hill and onto the main road, we took a left. We did hear “this is private property” from one person but everyone else in the plantation greeted us with smiles and we had no problems. Exquisite views all around.

It's also a loop trek, which is convenient. If you need to coordinate transport, you can be dropped at Blackberry Hills, and then receive pickup or hail an auto at a few points if you don't want to do the full loop--Attrakadu falls is an obvious one, as is Blanket Hotel or the Pothamedu bridge (trail time will be appx 1 hr 30 mins at the falls, 1:50 for Blanket Hotel and prob 3 1/2 hrs at the bridge). Happy trails!
