Itinerary description
A hike to the iconic white cross, over well maintained trails, offering a good workout and great views of the Cowichan Valley & the Cowichan River Estuary.
Starting from the Kaspa Rd. parking lot, it proceeds up past the Ecological (Gary Oak & Wild Flower) Reserve and then climbs up to the lookout at the cross via the Danalyzer Trail. It returns via the Branch D Trail and Old Main Line Trail.
These trails are shared with mountain bikers so be aware of bike traffic!

Entry to the Gary Oak Woodland
We did not enter on this day but it can make for an interesting side trip. It is especially pretty in spring when the wildflowers are in bloom.
