Itinerary description
A hike to the rim of Mount Ruapehu in New Zealand. It is one of the most active volcanoes of the country/world. The hike has magnificent 360 degree views. There is a small hut at the top.
Ruapehu is part of Tongariro National Park. One of the pictures showing a volcano veiled in clouds as actual Ngauruhoe, another volcano in Tongariro park.
The path up is not clearly marked.
The trailhead is accessible by chairlift.
