Itinerary description
This trail makes its way up on the E4 European Long Distance Trail starting in the town of Litochoro at 240m, making its way up to Prionia, the traditional starting point at 1060m. This 12km section is highly recommended due to its beauty. We speed hiked this section.
The trail continued for 6km to Refuge A at 2100m. From here it was a steep climb to the summit, but not before we navigated some precarious rock scrambling with some serious drop offs enroute to Mytikas from Skala. If you have fear of heights, rather stop at Skala and enjoy the views from there. We came down the same way up, except ending at Prionia due to daylight coming to an end.
Total distance is 33km, total accumulative ascent 3192m, just under 16 hours starting at 5:00am; adding extra 12 km's at beginning only possible during summer when there is maximum daylight hours.

Thank you very much for uploading :)
Did you do all the hike in one day only? Wow ...
Our pleasure :) !
Yes, we did the complete track in one day. We would have liked to have finished in Litochoro, but daylight was coming to an end so we had to finish at Prionia.
Such a hike ! Sorry I didn't reply earlier but I don't use this much and I didn't have e-mail notifications.
Marc.
