Itinerary description
From Drynans hut follow the track (road) uphill to Paddy’s campsite on the right, follow the creek along until it forks.
Take the left fork going as it’s unmarked trail, follow the creek bed until you can’t go any further then head up the ridge on the left, this is where I started the recording. Keep to the top of the ridge and it then goes up on the right onto another ridge. Lots of rock, make this pretty easy going although it’s all uphill. We went through a big patch of ferns towards the top, once on top Maroon is to the right, there is a big gully in between there is a large knoll that we kept to the right of and almost at the end of it found a way down, and then through the bush to join the regular maroon track. We went to the top and then came back down and picked up the well worn track down the gully, which was shady and cool. Eventually you come out again where the creek split. Follow it back to the campground, we went past it by mistake, which ended in a little bush bash back to the track! Note to self!
