Itinerary description
Tough treck, not for technical difficulties but rather for the long, uphill path and constant heat.
Start early in the morning to avoid midday heat, around 5am recommended. No guide needed, most of the path is easy to follow, albeit no great signaling.
If using my route, please BE WARNED: I lost my way uphill for a short period or time, which resulted in some rather uncomfortable hiking though small lava crevasses. Try to stick to my descent path, not the ascent one, and you’ll be fine.
It gets chilly up at the top.
