Itinerary description
A long loop around the westren side of makhtesh Ramon. The trail starts at mt. Ramon (1035m) along the terrace trail on far north-west edge of makhtesh with views along the maktesh to the west (domminated by the balck basalt hill of karnei-ramon). After a short bypass through a dry creek the trail decents south to the bottom of the makhtesh and crosses a magnificent basalt black prism-valley. Continuing south-west the trail climbs on colorful-sand to the other side of the makhtesh to mt. Ido (959m). The mt. top prvodes pnoramic views to the east an south-east. Finally the tail return to the starting point along a the edge of the makhtesh and Arod creek.
