A great day for the couple today as we did the unexpected. We decided at short notice to go on another mountain hike and topped the 14th highest mountain in the Rocky Mountains out of 54 in total. You can walk to the mountain from different heights, we took the most common hiking route or from the car park at "Summit Lake", from there up the ridge and up Mt. Spalding, down from that peak, just to hike up and along the ridge and onto Mt. Even. This walk is basically a lot of scrambling through a rocky, slippery area, precarious and therefore important to keep your attention in order - not for the faint of heart / then there was nothing else available but scrambling this same way back and down to the car.
Worth remembering, the most common way to the top is by car, yes….. you can drive up and walk the last approx. 50 meters / not my style at all - I can conscientiously tick "done" when mountain climbing/climbing on "to do" my list Sorry, I forgot to turn on the tractor at the start of the hike, so I'm missing a few meters from the total length.
