Itinerary description
This trial begins from the Mount Coot-tha Python trailhead which is found off Moggill Road The Gap The combination of trails colour a lot of the north side of Mt Coot-tha.
The track initially climbs up the python trail to Channel 7. It then descends via the Eugena circuit to meet up with a Simpson Falls track. Where the track meets Simpson Falls you divert left into the Stringybark track and follow until you cross the Matt Cooper main road. From there you proceed up the Bardon trail until you hit the channel 2 transmission towers and then you find the entry to a small track to the left that takes you down the north side of Mount Coot-tha.
The Trail here becomes narrow slippery and descends until you hit a narrow watercourse that progresses down to meet up with the main Gap trails. You then follow along the fire trail at this spot along the creek to the storm water control dam that initiates the start of the Maculata track.
You then follow the maculata track up to it's conclusion back at the main Ring Road and then find the narrow channel 10 track up the mountain to Channel 10 before taking the Currawong Street trail down to the Boulder trail which leads back to the Python trail.
