Itinerary description
Turn off the Motueka Valley West bank Road at Rocky River Road, drive 8.16 Km on forestry roads (4-wheel drive required near the top) to the locked gate. (Limited parking near the gate) It's a steady (often steep!)walk on a 4-wheel drive track to the summit starting in sub alpine bush moving through the bush line to the open top of Mt Campbell. A good level of fitness required to enjoy this walk. Good footwear advised. Spectacular 360 degree views from the top. Be prepared for extreme weather changes at any time of the year.
**Note** The walk from the locked gate is on private land however walking is permitted by the owners - usual rules apply leave gates as found and take your rubbish home with you.
