Itinerary description
Calm winter day for great winter hike. Thought the winds would be greater at the summit. Crusted snow with some powder coverage. Drifts on the approach were spotty and no more then ten inches. Some snow covered ice as I neared the summit but my Tubbs Alp Flex snowshoes were enough to handle it. The only tough section is that between the shelter and the summit. Little in the way of views and heard what may have been an avalanche off another side of the mountain. No evidence of any in my area.
