Lunch Rocks

This is a wonderful place to chill out with some food to watch other skiers tackle the headwall of Tuckerman's Ravine. People play guitar, saxaphone, and grill on portable grills they haul up! It is quite the experience at the base of Tux.

Climbing and Skiing the Headwall

You will be climbing up a boot-pack route that is 45 to 50 degrees = steep! If you have a fear of heights don't look down! When you crest the lip at the top the slope becomes a lot easier allowing you take a few warm up turns before dropping in. There are a ton of different routes down so pick your line based on your comfort and skiing ability. When you are done head back down the way you came towards hermit lake to hook up with the Sherburne Ski Trail down there. Or... if you are there early enough in the spring you can try skiing down the stream emptying from the ravine but make sure it's got a lot of cover and is safe.
