Itinerary description
Mount Sunday is the location of the city of Edoras in the Lord of the Ring movies. It is a rocky hill in the middle of the Rangitata river valley with expansive views of the surrounding mountains, most prominently the Southern Alps to the west. It is not wonder the site was chosen for the movies, as it is a truly beautiful.
