Itinerary description

With Hiking Passion Adventure group & Pokitanaan Sdn Bhd

*Note: The local helped educates outsiders, like me, on how to properly pronounce the name Kai'ngaran. Simple. KAI. NGARAN. It is still, a single word, but that's how it should be properly pronounced*

Recently listed as Malaysia's 3rd highest (Sinsing) and 5th highest mountains in Malaysia, even though, these mountains have been discovered, as far as 5 years ago. Something to do with having the "proper" authorities, measuring these mountains, with their own equipments. Bureaucracy, at its best🤣.
One awesome thing, nonetheless, Pokitanaan Sdn Bhd are the same people who discovered, open up the trail, and now, continues to manages it, till today. Another awesome thing about Pokitanaan, is that they are from Kampong Nupakan, and only hires people from their lovely village, to handling everything to do with managing an adventure group. Just badass.
The trail starts with an old logging road, intertwined with forest paths, just to cut down some of the winding road. However, I personally would say that, this is Mount Sinsing and Kai'ngaran version of Mount Nuang's "Neverending" road. You won't feel it much, going in, but you'll definitely gonna question your life choices, on your way out🤣🤣🤣.

Here is our Day 1's itinerary;

14:00 4x4 transfer to trailhead
14:32 Reached trailhead and start hiking
16:00 Water Source+small falls
19:16 Reached Aerick Brooke's Basecamp
20:00 Dinner + overnight

Trailhead Starts/Ends

14:32 Started late. No thanks to having to wait for another group of hikers to come out, and having the 4WD to return them to the Nupakan Community Center, where we wasted, closed to 3 hours. And yes. I was quite surprised at how light my bag is🤣🤣🤣 *Note; there's a tap, near the hut, for cleaning your stuff, upon getting out. However, if it rained, don't see the point coz y'all gonna get dirty, nonetheless. Might as well ride the 4WD, and wash-up upon reaching Kg Nupakan's community center.

Also, here is where Aerick Brooke's Basecamp is. Just a few meters ahead

Aerick Brooke's Basecamp

19:16 Very well-established campsite. If you've ever done Mount Trus Madi, it's basically carbon copy of Mount Trus Madi's basecamp. Complete with an outhouse, and a shower. Take note though. This place sits on a high elevation, 2300m. This means, this place gets very cold, crazy cold. Get yourself a proper winter-rated sleeping gears and clothing, if you wanna survive this place. And I am not kidding.
