Itinerary description
If you are passing through the old mining township of Mt Perry (100km west of Bundaberg), put on your boots and give the Mt Perry Summit Walk a go. Its an only 8km return, journey but the trail is very steep in places and will give your heart a good workout. The track commences 3km from the centre of town and initially follows a dirt road up to the start of Mt Perry Reserve. After that, its a well defined trail, along a ridge of vine scrub which slowly takes you to the summit where the country changes to hardwood forest. At the top there are a few towers and some great views of Mt Rawdon mine, Mt Perry and on a good day I've been told you can make out the Fraser Coast line.
