Itinerary description
Fairly difficult hike, I recommend hiking on and camping at crater lake one day. Then climb Osborne in the morning when the sun is low and hike out the same day after resting again at crater lake. The terrain has a lot of loose rock that can slide so trekking poles are greatly recommend.
If there is ample snow in the Vally and you don't mind the steep angle, you can slide down the snow to quickly descend. You do go pretty fast so I would exercise caution, you can always head down the same way you came up.
