Itinerary description
It is the highest mountain in Greece with his main peak Mytikas 2918m. We had to travel for 7h to reach the trailpoint so the best option to hike Olympus was to split the hike on two parts. For the first part we started the hike from the Prionia 1100m. The trail is well marked and easy to be followed. We hiked for 2.5h till Spilos Agapitos refuge, stayed overnight there and next day started the hike very early on the morning to reach the first summit, Skala 2882m for 1h40min. Next summit was the highest peak, Mytikas. Path from the Skala to Mytikas is well marked as well but has some difficulties as there are parts where the slope is very high and we have to use our hands as well. We reached Mytikas for 45minutes. Next target was Skolio 2912m. This is one of the most beautiful hike.
Total Distance from Prionia till Skolio is appox. 11.6km.
Elevation gain 2100m
Time till Skolio peak is 6h35min.
