Itinerary description

Start/End: Junction of Menzies Pit Road and Coles Track.
Menzies Pit Road isn't really suitable for cars with low clearance. You'd *could* make it to the carpark in a hatchback but I wouldn't risk it - there's some pretty big puddles that could be too deep and some rocky sections.
Once at the junction of Menzies Pit Road and the start of the summit track, I headed east on the unmaintained vehicle track to see if I could pick up the summit track on the eastern side of Mount Napier (I had tried to access this side along Mount Napier Access track from the quarry road the day before but entrance is blocked near the quarry by a locked gate).
It seems as though any access to Mt Napier from the eastern side is discouraged - the track is not visible due to vegetation and it's not possible to continue along what used to be the vehicle track due to another locked gate so I headed back to the junction of Menzies Pit road and the summit track to get to the summit.
I have put a mark on the trail where the eastern summit track intersects with the summit track on Mount Napier.
