Mount Leinster, Ireland

I did this walk with the An Oige group on Sunday 22 August 2010. It was a beautiful day, sunshine but not too hot or cold. There was a cold breeze as we reached the peak. Most of the walk up was on difficult bogland, and down on a carpet of heather. In my view the group leader set too fast a pace for the group. It should be taken more slowly, both up and down, as the difficult surface could cause sprains or falls.
The hike is circular, but really requires transport to get to the start/finish point. We went by private bus to the town of Bunclody in County Wexford, and from there to the starting point about 6km away. I would categorise it as Difficult because of the surface.
He hecho este camino circular con el grupo de senderistas de An Oige (Un grupo Irlandés que tiene miembros de todas las edades). Fuimos en autocar desde Dublin al pueblo de Bunclody, en el Condado de Wexford, y de ahí al punto de salida a unos 6 km. Tuvimos un día de sol, pero sin demasiado calor ni frío. Aunque, llegando a la cima, soplaba un viento muy fresquito. Para la mayoría de la subida tuvimos que negociar camino por unas turberas muy mojadas y a la bajada por unas mantas de brezo. No hay caminos destacados por las zonas donde hemos subido y bajado. Ambas superficias dificultaba mucho el caminar. En mi opinión el lider ha llevado un ridmo demasiado rapido para un terreno tan peligroso, que podría provocar caídas o esguinces. Hay vistas preciosas de los campos fertiles de la zona del sur de Leinster. Yo lo denomino Difícil por el terreno!
