Itinerary description

An enjoyable and scenic hike to the highest point in Kosovo and onto an overnight stop on the Doberdol plateau. The trail starts in an area with holiday homes at the edge of the tree line, continues up through easy going terrain and past a beautiful 'heart' lake. The final ascent requires a little easy scrambling but the views from the top are spectacular as the horizon takes in the mountains of Kosovo, Montenegro and Albania. At this point you can retrace your path to the start, however as we were heading towards Montenegro our path took us a different route over a nearby ridge, down past another lake (which received several swimmers for a refreshing dip!) and onwards to the Doberdol plateau where we overnighted at a guest house.
