Itinerary description
Mount Erciyes climb in July, 2017
On the first week of July, 2017, I attempted the climb. It is a tough one to climb, even with one month training. Most of the ascend is on very loose volcanic rock. The last 300 meters are done via free rock climbing, you need to leave your pack back behind before attempting to summit.
The total ascend and descend time was 14 hours, the snow is melting and it leaves iced snow which is super dangerous. You start from 2200 metres elevation and you gain about 1700 meters in less than 9 hours.
