Itinerary description
Mount Donaldson Circuit
Not a long hike distance wise, however there is lots of bush bashing up steep slopes and navigation involved. No real track for the most part. Some sort of topographic map is a must (be that on a phone or a physical copy). Would not recommend attempting this hike unless you have a PLB, as it is quite remote and there is potential for injury.
Hiked the circuit in three days. First day camped down the Severn river. Second day camped on the peak of Mt Donaldson. Views from the top are spectacular and sunrise/sunset are even better. Be careful traversing the waterfalls on MacAllisters creek.
