Itinerary description
A large part of the trail is on the maintenance roads of the ski resort. Once crossing a creek (bridge got washed away) the trail switches over to a less defined trail along a creek till the end of the treeline. Then comes the most difficult part of the trail which is a hike on a steep grassy slope. Once the ridge is reached the walk is relative easy providing wonderful views.
Good poles are must!
Unlike the access from the North side, this trail does not involve any difficult rock climbing. The trail also has less snow in the early season compared to the North access. It is a good idea to check the webcams at Nakiska, even though non of them is showing this summit, but at least the amount of snow in the area could be judged.
I did this trail with Ed Ajram, he was finding the "easy route".
This trail is only ONE way - the way down - as we got up to the summit on a way more difficult trail!
