Itinerary description
Beautiful hike! Our first in Albania and we were not disappointed. The view of the coastline and crystalline blue water is mouth dropping. The mountains to the west are also just as stunning.
We took the 7:00 am bus from Vlorë that went to Sarandë. Unfortunately, the driver dropped us off 3.5 km before the pass (we forgot our stopping point!) and so we had to walk a bit to the trailhead until we found a ride (which we did) but then missed the Panorama restaurant by a bit! Anyway, it's why the recording is messy at the beginning. We took what the sign said the "main" trail up. It's surprisingly marked well enough and it would be difficult to get lost. We went slightly different way on the way down that lead directly to the start of the trailhead near panorama restaurant (you should take that trail to go up).
Not much to say other than the beauty of the hike. At around km 12.25 coming back, there's really no trail so we had to find the safest way to come down and find the trail again to get back. You see old remains of the trail but as long as you go up diagonally, you will see a rocky area that has a marker. Once you go up there, the trail starts up again.
This would probably be easier to access (without a car) if you're staying in Dhërmi. So many buses go by and it's much closer than Vlorë.
Happy trails!
