Itinerary description
This is a really really great hike with an amazing view. Firstly you walk down a beautiful valley about 40 minutes on a decent path. You'll see the Mount Catherine peak in the background. After this you need to cross the river bed and this is when you start to head up.
The path is very clear and you can't get lost. I took a small detour to what I imagine is sometimes a waterfall. You continue up a number of fairly steep zig zags. You'll come out at the bottom of the peak and it doesn't look far but it still took me around 45 minutes. When you arrive at the top there is a building and the most spectacular views of the Sainai region including Mount Sainai.
I decided to take the path into the valleys for some different scenery on the way down. You will head down from the peak the same way and go left instead of right (where you came up) and make your way down. The path is clear until you hit a rocky area. You can use the rock stacks to make sure you are going in the right direction for this whole section. There is lots of them. But you basically want to go down and to your left.
You'll reach the bottom of the valley after around an hour and a half. Walk down the valley towards the left until you meet another valley. You then need to turn right down the adjoining valley and follow the river bed all the way to the end where you'll hit a wall and a T junction. There's a few potentially tricky little waterfalls to go down. But take your time and look at all the different options and you'll see the obvious way down.
Once you hit the brick wall turn right and head down until you see a path heading up on your right. This will take you up to a pass with a view over St Catherine. You'll head down the steep but decent path until you reach town.
