Itinerary description
A great blog post on the trails of Mosquito Ridge Road >>> http://foothill-hikers.posterous.com/the-trails-of-mosquito-ridge-road
This moderate strenuous trail has recently been cleared and opened most likely for the first time since the Ralston Fire in 2006. It is a magical place where one has the solitude of the canyons rippling against the majestic Middle Fork. Be sure to check out the Ralston Fire information[1] below and the suspension bridge abutment trail[2]. The abutment trail heads down to the Middle Fork to a spot where a circa 1912 suspension bridge was swept away by high waters. The area is ridiculously splendid, particularly the rocks just above the gorge 200-feet downstream:-)
