Itinerary description
We did the trail (more like a long walk) to the Morskie Oko Lake, in Poland, in Winter. There is an entrance fee at the entrance and the option to do most of the way in horse cars.
All the way to the lake looks like its paved, since the horses go through it. Since it was winter, it had snow/ice on top of it, so my first important tip is to have shoes/boots with good traction because it can get very slippery. Some people did the trail with micro spikes, which i think is a good idea although not necessary when we did it; If it had more snow or ice it would be very much necessary.
There are even more bathrooms along the way than what i have marked, so this is very nice.
The walk never gets very steep so it's not so tiring, it is acessible to most people, for sure. There are some parts to cut a little bit the way, which are more steep, but nothing crazy.
At the lake, there is a restaurant that was completely full (beggining of january), so i would not count on it during any touristic season. The lake was frozen and it was possible to walk on a part of it.
The views on this trail were amazing, we had a perfect day with clear sky, not so cold temperatures and not much wind, but without sun and with wind it gets really cold fast.
100% recommend it.
