Morava Mt, Morava 1845m-Hiol 1854m-Kopanes 1890m

A scenic hike to the highest peaks of Mt Morava. Plain peaks, dense forests, dirt roads and easy trails. This relatively low altitude Mt, is characterized by its dense vegetation that reaches almost up to the peaks. The Morava peak is unfortunately is disturbed with a huge metal structure that serves as a reflector of some sort. The higher peak Hiol however, remains untouched.

The route starts from a point at a dirt road serving woodcutters that ascents up to the plains between the peaks. Following the dirt road and short cutting some turns of the road, we reach at a point were we enter a beech tree cluster and then reach the clearing east of the main peak Morava ( 1845m ). Then up to the peak with 360 view, right at the heart of Pindus Mountain range.

From this point descent to the dirt road again, and head west until we reach a crossroad. At this crossroad we leave the road and follow a visible and plain footpath that passes through the lesser peak of Hiol I ( 1798m ) and then to the higher one Hiol II ( 1854m ), which is probably the most impressive of the complex.

From Hiol II peak, we follow a small footpath and descend to a col, and up to the dirt road. Finally to a footpath that leads to the Kopanes peak ( 1890m ).

The return route follows different dirt roads all the way to the starting point of the route.

Since the route moves around and close to the the higher peaks of the mountain there are no water springs, only season creeks with drinkable water. Among other highlights of the region is a roadtrip to the Aspropotamos villages and a visit to the small, albeit impressive and picturesque church: Timiu Stavru near Krania village.

Μια διασκεδαστική διαδρομή που περνάει από τις ψηλότερες κορυφές του Συγκροτήματος Μοράβας πλήν της Τσούμα Λούπου. Παρότι χρησιμοποιεί σε μεγάλο βαθμό χωματόδρομους ξυλοκόπων, αυτοί προσφέρουν όμορφη πεζοπορία, καθότι πάντοτε σκεπασμένοι από φυλλώματα οξιάς.

Η διαδρομή αρχίζει από σημείο του χωματόδρομου που ανεβαίνει για τα ψηλά του βουνού, μέχρι στροφή του δρόμου. Από το σημείο αυτό, μέσω μονοπατιού συνεχίζει για την κύρια κορυφή της Μοράβας η οποία προσφέρει εντυπωσιακή θέα στην καρδιά της Πίνδου. Από εκεί μέσω χωματοδρόμων και μονοπατιών στην προκορυφή της Χιόλ, την κύρια και μάλλον και πιο εντυπωσιακή κορυφή του συγκροτήματος, Στη συνέχεια κατέβασμα από καλογραμμένο μονοπάτι για αυχένα, και από εκεί για την ακόμα ψηλότερη κορυφή Κοπάνες. Επιστροφή από διαφορετικούς χωματόδρομους μέχρι το σημείο αφετηρίας της διαδρομής.

Μιας και η διαδρομή κινείται πέριξ των ψηλότερων κορυφών του βουνού δεν υπάρχουν πηγές, παρα μόνο μικρά ρυάκια που όμως στερεύουν μετά την Άνοιξη. Εαν υπάρχει χρόνος μετά την ανάβαση, αξίζει μια επίσκεψη με αυτοκίνητο από πολύ ευχάριστο ασφαλτόδρομ,ο μέχρι την μοναδικής αρχιτεκτονικής μονή Ανύψωσης Τιμίου Σταυρόυ με τους 13 τρούλους μεταξύ χωριών Δολιανών και Κρανιάς.
