Itinerary description
1h:58m:21s | 4.4 km
Trail starts at Moongate and takes the first right onto Wildboar Trail. Steep climb over rough terrain with some ropes (and plastic tubing) available for steeper sections. Follow along the main trail avoiding the many trails that lead back to Moongate trail which is largely steps. You will reach the 300 Steps and keep to the right until reaching the Poh Yau Mak and Sua Kia Junction.Continue straight until seeing the 300 Steps sign keeping right. There are two rope bridges to cross before reaching the end of the Wildboar Trail where the Peace Trail passes to the left and right. You will see a third rope bridge on the right but at this point you must follow the Peace Trail upwards to Rest Station 5 (it's posted). Just prior to Station 5 take a right turn onto the Bukit Cendana trail (bukit=hill). There is an unmarked junction to your right but keep left ascending towards Bukit Cendana. The vegetation thins out along this stretch and there is a view of the city to the east - mostly hazy during the dry periods. Continuing uphill you will eventually reach the the peak of Bukit Cendana which is approximately at 525m. There are a number of trails which intersect near the top. One junction takes you south while another takes you to Station 84. You will come across Rain Gauge 10 and then a couple of old pillars of a house long since destroyed. Continue descent in a northerly direction until reaching a junction where you turn right and descend along the western section of the Peace Trail. Continue descent along Rifle Range Trail. You will eventually see the shooting range to your lower left or possible hear gun fire. Continue along down the slope where you will hear the nearby creek just before coming on on the main road (Jl. Bunga) just west of the Moongate entrance.
